Acting Now specialises in the use of drama and theatre in education and community settings, as well as other non-traditional theatre contexts, as a catalyst for change. We use physical theatre, socially engaged practice and Theatre of the Oppressed methodologies to run a variety of theatre projects aimed at different groups.
We devise inclusive theatre projects with marginalised communities, adults with learning disabilities or mental health issues, and projects for young people, with the support of local authorities, organisations and schools. A key part of our work is the production of performances that are staged in community settings as well as professional theatre venues. We also use our experience to run training programmes, acting courses and offer bespoke role play services to help organisations improve their performance and personnel skills.
