Acting Now is one of only five groups in the Anglia West region that have been shortlisted to compete for the public vote and £50,000 of Big Lottery Fund cash in ITV's The People´s Project TV Competition.

About ‘Rehearsal for Change’: The project focuses on using theatre to improve the lives of people at risk of social exclusion and consists of a series of theatre workshops where participants will develop self-confidence and new skills, leading them to devise an original play using their own stories. The project will culminate with the plays being performed in front of communities who normally struggle to access culture. We will play in care homes, community centres and libraries in rural towns.

How we will use the money: If we win, the money will be used to scale up the work we do and reach out to more disadvantaged groups in the community working alongside charities and local authorities. We will open five theatre groups for learning disabled people, adults with mental health issues, vulnerable teenagers and women and cover all related expenses for the participants.
