One month in of our new drama group funded by the A14

A14 Drama Group

Tuesdays 2pm - 4pm at Ross Street Community centre, Cambridge

During our last two sessions of our Tuesday group A14 at Ross Street Community Centre we had a fascinating creative process led by  Lithuanian actress and physical theatre practitioner Judita Vivas.

Judita's creative work is drawn on real stories while combining movement, vocal work, somatic sensitivity, experimentation with text and tangible materials. The resulting performances are physically and visually dynamic. Since 2008, Judita has co-devised and performed in a large number of performances and theatre projects, collaborated with multi-media artists and worked with various international performance practitioners.

The aim of this  physical theatre journey is to take our participants through permanent expanding horizons to the wisdom of the poetic body with humor and sensitivity. This can produce a stronger confidence, more self-effectiveness and an intense body awareness on those who live with a stigmatized health challenge. Their social life can improve along with reducing their anxiety and shyness. Elements of our diverse experiences, sensations and everything we saw, tasted, touched and felt are saved inside of us. All of this is present in our body and the base of our desire and motivation for creation.

The richenes of physical theatre lays on an extraordinary wealth of perception and sensations! By exploration the room and creating still images we sensitized ourselves for our aimed play, coming up in December 2018.

We are excited to come back next Tuesday to Ross Street community centre to be carried along by the magic of Physical Theatre!
