Acting course “Physical Theatre and Comedy”

This course has now finished. Click here to check our upcoming acting course starting in January 2019.

Join us for an introductory course to physical comedy using Lecoq technique and improvisation. This workshop is perfect for those who want to further their understanding of comedy acting.

Through exercises such as simple Buffon, contact improvisation and physical gesture, you will develop greater awareness, confidence and playfulness within a comedic performance.  Having a deeper awareness of your physicality and that of your fellow actors improves the performer’s ability to listen and respond in the moment, enabling them to take risks and make fresh discoveries in rehearsal and performance.

A physical approach to comedy is an essential technique when learning to act. You can use this approach to develop text, character, scene work and ensemble moments.
