Lisa Burkard

Drama Assistant and Researcher

BA International Social Work and Development. She has worked in projects combining Applied Theatre, International Social Work and Economy in different countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, India and Germany. She joined Acting Now in February 2018, where she assists the workshop delivery and marketing of the company. She is developing the project “A story to tell – Inspiring life stories”, which aims to compilate participant’s personal stories to prove the positive of theatre. Lisa is currently developing her thesis research at Coburg University on the effects of Applied Theatre on Emotional Intelligence based on Acting Now’s work with people at risk of social exclusion.

Babette Lind

Project Leader

MA in Sustainable Development. BA (Hons) International Management and French. Studied Performing Arts at St Erik’s College in Stockholm, Sweden and obtained a Diploma in Acting for Film/TV in Gothenburg, Sweden. Babette joined Acting Now in early 2018 as a volunteer and is now running the drama group for young women. Having worked as an actor in Sweden and Gambia, she feels strongly about social inequalities and is in the process developing her ambitions as a playwright, inspired by Acting Now’s methodology she aims to highlight societal disparities in her work. Babette is currently coordinating the formation of a drama group for mixed race and other black ethnic minorities.

Judita Vivas

Physical and Applied Theatre Practitioner

Judita is a Lithuanian actress and Physical Theatre artist. She is an Associate Artist of DUENDE, and Research Collaborator on Icarus Performance Project (Malta). She is also Founder and Co-Director of Foxtale Ensemble as well as Double Trouble. Since 2008, she has trained with various international theatre practitioners and devised and performed in a large number of performance projects in Europe and the UK. Judita joined Acting Now in 2018, where she delivers a theatre project for people with mental health challenges and teaches Physical Theatre training courses.

Simon Sterrew

Drama Assistant and Choreographer

Ba (Hons) in Performing Arts. He is a recent graduate at Anglia Ruskin and has joined the Acting Now team as an assistant teacher and choreographer. His main technique is physical theatre and movement stylistics. He has written a piece which he is looking into making a proper theatre production. He has been performing across Bury St Edmund’s and Cambridge for the past 9 years and also been an assistant producer and director in Diss.
